ST ANDREWS, SCOTLAND

Beyond the Famous Names

A Different Side of Scottish Golf

The familiar Scottish bases remain, but the golf looks elsewhere, selecting seven courses whose histories, coastlines, and local character reward a longer look. Dunbar and Kilspindie lead into Crail and Lundin before three northern rounds carry the collection deeper into the Highlands.

A Sample Itinerary

Each day is planned with precision — championship golf, refined accommodation, and seamless transfers.

Day 3

A Private Day Exploring Edinburgh With Your Guide

Trade golf for a private guided day in Edinburgh, travelling from North Berwick into Scotland's capital with your chauffeur.

Spend the day exploring the city with your guide before returning to Marine North Berwick for the evening. Should you wish to add another round of golf or a local experience on this day, Kinfern can arrange this for you.

Day 5

Sea Views Begin the St Andrews Stay

Check out from Marine North Berwick and travel by chauffeur to Fairmont St Andrews, beginning five nights in a superior double room with sea view.

Your Auchterlonies and St Andrews Golf Company discount vouchers are also introduced on arrival, ready to use during your St Andrews stay. Should you wish to add another round of golf or a local experience on this day, Kinfern can arrange this for you.

Day 6

Crail Balcomie and the Old Course Ballot

Play Balcomie Links at Crail, where much of today's course was laid out by Old Tom Morris in 1895.

Your Old Course Ballot entry is also submitted today for a potential tee time on Day 8, with results published two days before play.

Day 7

A Slower Day Above the North Sea

Enjoy a day without scheduled golf at Fairmont St Andrews, giving the five-night stay room to breathe between included rounds.

The resort's cliff-top North Sea setting provides an easy base for a slower day before tomorrow's conditional Old Course opportunity. Should you wish to add another round of golf or a local experience on this day, Kinfern can arrange this for you.

Day 8

Old Course Ballot Day With Room to Adapt

This day remains deliberately open around your Old Course ballot. If successful, your allocated tee time brings the Old Course into the week.

If unsuccessful, Kinfern can arrange alternative golf or a non-golf experience, preserving flexibility without presenting a conditional round as confirmed.

Day 9

Lundin Closes the St Andrews Golf

Play Lundin, where the opening five and closing four holes follow classic links ground, with nine James Braid-designed holes between them.

Return to Fairmont St Andrews after the round for the final evening of your five-night stay.

Day 10

Glamis Castle on the Journey North

Leave Fairmont St Andrews and journey north with a private guided visit to Glamis Castle that includes a bagpiper welcome.

After the castle tour, continue by chauffeur to Inverness and begin five nights at The Kingsclub of The Kingsmills Hotel. Should you wish to add another round of golf or a local experience on this day, Kinfern can arrange this for you.

Day 11

Boat of Garten Opens the Highland Golf

Travel south-east from Inverness to Boat of Garten, where James Braid's 18-hole course brings an inland Highland setting to the collection.

After the round, return to The Kingsclub for another relaxed evening before the final two golf days.

Day 12

A Slower Day From Your Inverness Base

Enjoy a full day without scheduled golf from your Inverness base, giving the final Highland stretch a gentler pace.

With no included activity today, the time remains open for rest or independent plans before golf resumes tomorrow. Should you wish to add another round of golf or a local experience on this day, Kinfern can arrange this for you.

Day 13

Fortrose and Rosemarkie Beside the Moray Firth

Travel from Inverness to Fortrose & Rosemarkie on the Chanonry Peninsula, where the links overlooks the Moray Firth.

After the round, return to The Kingsclub for the penultimate evening of your five-night Highland stay near Inverness.

Day 14

Brora Links and a Glenmorangie Finale

Head north to Brora for the final guaranteed round, playing a traditional links course shaped by James Braid beside the sea.

Afterwards, continue to Glenmorangie Distillery in Tain for your private guided tour before returning to Inverness.

Day 15

A Final Morning Before Edinburgh Departure

After breakfast, check out from The Kingsclub and meet your chauffeur for the journey south to Edinburgh Airport.

With fourteen nights and seven guaranteed rounds complete, the final day is reserved for your onward international departure.
