Across St. Pierre's Former Deer Park

The Old Course at Delta Hotels by Marriott, St. Pierre Country Club opened in 1962 across a former deer park. C. K. Cotton designed the layout with assistance from Frank Pennink, using the estate's mature trees and rolling ground to frame a demanding inland test.

An eleven-acre lake shapes several holes, while contoured greens and deep bunkers add further pressure. Ross McMurray remodelled the course in 2008, introducing new tee complexes and rebuilding the bunkers. Four greens were also replaced to improve year-round play.

The closing hole provides its strongest visual and strategic moment. This 230-yard par three asks for a committed carry across the edge of the lake to a raised green. St. Pierre has also hosted twelve European Tour events and the 1996 Solheim Cup, with former Ryder Cup captains among its past champions. That tournament record gives the course a competitive heritage closely linked to Welsh golf.
