Between Cardigan Bay and the Railway

The golf course at Borth & Ynyslas Golf Club was established in 1885 and stretches north from Borth towards the dunes at Ynyslas. Harry Colt redesigned the links in 1947, shaping the par-70 course that remains in play. The club also identifies it as the only true links in Ceredigion.

The routing follows a traditional out-and-back line, with Cardigan Bay on one side and the railway marking the inland boundary. Its level ground is broken by natural humps, hollows, and bunkers, while five long par threes place unusual weight on accurate iron play.

Much of the course lies within the Dyfi National Nature Reserve. Near the turn, the holes reach the shelter of the Ynyslas dunes before facing the return towards Borth. Wind across the bay can change the effective length of every hole, giving this compact links a test that depends far more on control than raw power.
