Across Rowallan's Ancient Parkland

The golf course at Rowallan Castle opened in 2010 after Colin Montgomerie and Ross McMurray of European Golf Design began work two years earlier. The routing crosses rolling estate ground, starting in open meadow before moving through wetland and mature woodland.

Two castles remain visible from the fairways, while trout streams and old specimen trees shape the lines of play. Water is used with restraint rather than dominating the round. Several outward par threes stand out, including the 8th, where an elevated tee shot crosses a shaded valley towards a raised green guarded by a stream.

The back nine introduces longer doglegs and demanding approaches, with the downhill 16th finishing at a raised green protected by a pond and large bunkers. The 19th, named "The Decider", is a testing par three intended for matches still level after 18 holes, giving the course a finishing tradition of its own.
