Across the Rossdhu Estate

The golf course at Loch Lomond Golf Club opened in 1993 on the Rossdhu Estate, with Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish shaping the layout through mature woodland beside the loch. Rossdhu House, completed in 1773, became the clubhouse, while the remains of Rossdhu Castle overlook the closing green.

The routing uses the estate's natural ground rather than forcing a uniform pattern. Most holes sit apart from one another, with trees, streams, marshland, and the loch forming visible hazards. The linked green complex shared by the 2nd and 4th is an unusual feature within the layout.

Loch Lomond hosted fifteen consecutive Scottish Opens from 1996 to 2010, placing the course at the centre of European professional golf for more than a decade. A later three-year renovation rebuilt all eighteen holes. The work renewed the drainage and irrigation systems before the bunkers were reconstructed.
