Ryder Cup Parkland by the Maigue

The golf course at Adare Manor stands on land where golf was first introduced to the estate in 1900, when Ben Sayers designed a nine-hole layout for the 4th Earl of Dunraven. The present 18-hole course opened in 1995 as a Robert Trent Jones Sr design, giving the estate a full championship venue.

Tom Fazio then led a complete redesign and reconstruction in 2016 and 2017. The routing was retained, while the playing ground received full sand capping and extensive drainage. SubAir systems beneath every green support firm conditions, and the rebuilt course reopened in 2018 with tournament infrastructure in place.

Wide fairways invite confident driving, though their angles matter. Mature hardwood trees frame the lines, while contoured slopes and strategic bunkers reward the correct side of the fairway. Fourteen elevated greens place extra value on approach control and recovery play from tightly cut surrounds. Water appears on fourteen holes, with the River Maigue defining much of the back nine.

The 18th returns towards the manor beside the river, closing a round prepared for the demands of the 2027 Ryder Cup.
