A Finish Along Termonfeckin Beach

The golf course at Seapoint Golf Links opened on 1 June 1993, with Des Smyth leading the design and former Irish amateur international Declan Branigan assisting. Branigan later directed further changes in 2004 and 2005, including the addition of water hazards around several early holes. The clubhouse opened in 1994, and the links staged the Glen Dimplex Irish Matchplay Championship the following year, when Smyth defeated Paul McGinley.

Streams and ponds shape the opening stretch, while trees mark the western edge of the property. The course gradually becomes more exposed, and the long par-four run from the 11th to the 14th adds length and heavy bunkering before an uphill approach to a blind green.

From the 15th, the routing reaches the dunes beside the Irish Sea. The short 16th offers a chance to attack, but the raised 17th tee faces a narrow, two-level green split by a ridge. The closing par five asks for a partly blind drive before the final approach turns back towards the clubhouse.

Seapoint brings a less familiar County Louth link into a Kinfern golf experience while keeping the route practical from Dublin. The club is around 35 minutes from Dublin Airport and sits close to County Louth Golf Club, making the two courses a natural pairing without a long transfer between rounds. 

Several teeing options allow mixed-handicap groups to play the same day at a suitable length. Kinfern can use Seapoint within an east-coast sequence or as a quieter alternative to Dublin's better-known links.
