Colt's Two Loops by the Atlantic

The Championship Course at Trevose Golf & Country Club opened in 1925, with Harry S. Colt using the North Cornwall landscape to create the resort's main 18-hole layout. Member John C. Gammon bought Trevose in 1941, beginning the family ownership that continues to shape the club. Sir Guy Campbell made minor pre-war revisions, and Mackenzie & Ebert later led selective updates rather than replacing Colt's broad structure.

The course plays in two loops of nine. The outward half stays close to the Atlantic dunes, while the inward half turns onto higher inland ground before returning to the clubhouse. Wind changes the demands quickly, but the fairways and greens leave visible room for golfers who choose sensible lines. Misses bring rough and strategically placed bunkers into play.

The 166-yard third is followed by a short par 5 whose green sits close to Booby's Bay. The 11th plays to a two-tier plateau green, while the 460-yard 12th carries stroke index one. Trevose later hosted the 2012 McGregor Trophy, the 2017 English Men's County Finals, and the inaugural European Legends Links Championship in 2019.
